• From 1958, the important French sculptor developed an individual approach to space with his compressions, expansions and inclusions.
• From 1961, César was a member of the important avant-garde group "Nouveaux Réalistes", which also comprised Yves Klein, Arman, Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle.
• He showed his progressive sculptures at documenta II in 1959, as well as in 1964 and 1968.
• His sculptures are in international collections like the Musée national d"art moderne, Paris, the Tate Gallery, London, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York
