• Characteristic "Merz drawing" from the important avant-garde collection of Ida Bienert, Dresden.
• Bienert met Schwitters in Dresden in 1926 and they went on a trip together to the Erzgebirge and Zwickau in the fall, during which Schwitters made this collage for the young collector.
• In addition to a total of three "Merz drawings" by Kurt Schwitters, Bienert"s avant-garde collection included important works by Cézanne, van Gogh, Klee, Kandinsky, Munch, Marc, Feininger and Nolde.
• Today, numerous works from the Bienert collection can be found in important museum collections like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, or the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa
