Signed and dated to lower right ‘Grosz 1936". Signed, titled and inscribed to verso ‘Grosz Das spiel ist aus 1-83-9" with estate stamp. This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of works on paper by George Grosz and is sold with a certificate of authenticity from Ralph Jentsch. This work was reproduced as Finis , pl. 64, in the portfolio Interregnum by George Grosz. After publication, Grosz extended the drawing with reed pen and overworked it extensively with watercolor and gouache.
Work is in good condition and is hinged to mat window at several points along perimeter verso. Sheet shows areas of creasing throughout as well as pinholes to corners and wear to extreme edges, which are not visible in matting. Overall, work presents well. Framed behind glass measuring 31 x 26 inches.
