[…] Following his return from the USA, Schifano painted a great deal, with a renewed impetus. He rediscovered the techniques of the past (vivid enamel), and the figuration of the past (landscapes and geometry); but the enamel is less juicy, the landscape, as the titles indicate, is an “anaemic” landscape. […] And coloured card or transparent plexiglass are inserted to counter any interpretation of “impressionism”.
