Labeled "Attributed to Abraham van den Tempel" verso
45 3/4" x 33 7/8" actual, 54 9/16" x 42 1/2" framed
Condition
Restored condition. Panel has been cradled during an earlier restoration campaign. Mild separation between panel joints at upper edge. Panel seams are not all on the same picture plane. Vertical panel joints have been inpainted and are visible underneath ultraviolet light. Remnants of an earlier discolored natural resin varnish visible in background. Figure, dress, and hands appear to have been cleaned more recently. Scattered inpaint in background upper center. Possible retouch below earlier varnish layers. Frame appears about 100 years old and is not original to the work. Frame appears to have been repainted with gold paint. Mild frame rubbing along edges.
