Conceived circa 1881-1882 and cast in February 1977, this work is from an edition of approximately 13 made for the Musée Rodin, Paris, between 1925 and 1977, and one of 3 that was cast by Émile Godard Foundry, Paris, between 1973 and 1977. This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l’Oeuvre Sculpté d’Auguste Rodin currently being prepared by the Comité Auguste Rodin at Galerie Brame et Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive no. 2021-6360B.
