Hüneke 1921-14. Vogt 1921/18. Lower left signed and dated. Verso signed and dated, as well as once more signed and dated on the stretcher. 80.5 x 70.5 cm (31.6 x 27.7 in).
This painting was made at the Flensburg Firth in summer 1921, just as it is the case with Heckel's "Blick auf die Förde" at Kunsthalle iel (Vogt 1921/21).
Paintings by Erich Heckels with dem characteristic "Brücke"-motif of the bathers are very rare on the international auction market.
The work is registered at the Erich Heckel Estate, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance, under Vogt Number 1921/18. We are grateful to Mrs Renate Ebner M.A. and Mr Hans Geissler for the kind support in cataloging this lot.
