In 1950, the American filmmaker Albert Lewin, close to the surrealists, director of the famous Picture of Dorian Gray after Oscar Wilde, made his first color film and his masterpiece Pandora, played by Ava Gardner. To create the portrait of Pandora in sumptuous period costume, the filmmaker contacted his friend Man Ray who photographed Ava Gardner in a Hollywood studio and attended part of the filming in Spain. Man Ray will offer and autograph one of the very rare prints of this superb portrait of Ava Gardner to his long-time friend: Lise Deharme. Superb portrait of Ava Gardner in one of her legendary roles directed by Man Ray for one of the rare authentically surreal films in the history of cinema.
