In 1969, Josep Pinya founded the Sala Pelaires on the street of the same name. It was the first space dedicated entirely to contemporary art in Mallorca; the following year Miró opened his first solo exhibition in Mallorca, in this gallery. In this exhibition, the public of Palmas was presented with gouaches, drawings, engravings, lithographs, and a catalogue illustrated by a drawing by Miró.
