**Carolina Paniagua studied advertising drawing at the Orozco Studios in Mexico City, psychology and visual arts at UNAM. In 1974 she took a poster course with Viktor Gorka at ENAP and another in engraving in 1969 at the Stanley W. Hayter workshop in Paris. She was an arts teacher at the Activo Freire center, a position she assumed in 1971. In 1977 she joined the PCM and the following year in the Corriente Democrática. She was co-founder of the PRD. She has designed covers for books and magazines, the front page of Gallo Ilustrado 1977-78, and posters for the Faculty of Economics at UNAM. From 1974 she participated in collective painting exhibitions and since 1980 she has presented individual displays of her work in various cities. In 1970 she made some murals in the Soldominio housing unit in Mexico City and in the Corrupio bookstore in San Salvador, Brazil in 1984.
