The work of Francisco Toledo shows in a universal way the experiences in the rural world that saw him grow up in his native Juchitán. In his cosmogony, nature is not contrary to the essence of the human being, it is an exchange where there are no hierarchies between the inhabitants of the cosmos.
With an academic training in Mexico and abroad, Francisco Toledo recovered old techniques and experimented with new ones, both in painting and ceramics, highlighting the way in which he works with textures and materials, such as sand or amate paper; as well as the mastery with which he materializes his creation, making his creatures seem to come to life.
