The suite "The Twelve Tribes of Israel" was made by the artist in honor of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel. Each of the etchings represents one of the twelve tribes of Israel, and they are presented in many ways throughout the suite, such as symbols, flags, colors, stones or materials from nature. The series presents the twelve tribes of Israel, the descendants of Jacob who were born from his different wives: the sisters Leah and Rachel, and the handmaids Zilpah and Bilhah. The order of the sons" births can be found in the Book of Genesis: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin.
