The objective of the piece is for the cube to be flexible and to be able to be manipulated geometrically, aesthetically, scientifically and magically in the third and fourth dimensions.
Enrique Carbajal, better known as Sebastian, is one of the most important Mexican sculptors of his generation. His work was generated at the same time as other artistic trends were taking place, such as minimalism, op-art and pop art. In particular, his constructive vocation, fueled by the principles of kinetic art, was initially expressed in the creation of transformable or unfoldable sculptures, among which are the flexible cubes named "Leonardo", "Dürer" and "Brancusi", which are an example of his interest and relationship with mathematics.
