- In volume III of Corot"s work by Alfred Robaut it is indicated under number 2072: “1870-72 - Village by the sea, 38 x 55 cm Corot sale stamp. Probably painted in Tréport... There is also a repetition of this study (0.55 x 0.65)”. Corot posthumous sale (n°420), in a lot.
The facsimile of a copy of the catalog of the posthumous Corot sale annotated by Alfred Robaut and illustrated with marginal sketches indicates under this number 420: “Composed landscape, unfinished -------- 3rd part of the sale
Green and cheerful tone; blue sky; small houses with red roofs at the bottom. Further from the water bordered by hills on the horizon.
