Lamp features rippled glass and an early glass base.
Impressed manufacturer"s mark to underside ‘TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK D 438". Etched number to glass base "S1508".
Good antique condition. Leading is free of any signs of repairs or losses, and is secure. Shade with approximately seven small and stable breaks to panes, each visible only under close scrutiny. Glass body is free of any chips, losses or repairs when examined closely. Base elements have developed a rich brown patina over time. Two armatures are slightly askew, while not detracting from stability or overall appearance when shade is installed. Burner guts have been removed to accommodate a single socket for the shade, font well has been removed from base to accommodate a contemporary socket mounted on underside of burner. Threaded rods in foot have been crudely welded to font aperture ring for stability. Cloth wiring has not been tested, showing several areas of exposed wiring. Grommet ring missing from base switch, grommet for cord hole is likely a replacement. It is recommended that wiring be updated prior to normal use.
