Pen and dark brown ink and wash on light tan wove paper, circa 1903. 210x137 mm; 8 1/4x5 1/2 inches. Signed and titled in ink, recto.

Picasso's famous portrait of his friend's wife, fellow artist Ricardo Canals, Portrait Mme. Canals , oil, 1905, is now in the Museu Picasso, Barcelona (Zervos 263). This is a sketch Picasso made of the artist's son, Octavio, playing with a pet cat.
